Chapter One
The Calling
Father, you have been calling her by a name she has only half believed. The gifts you put in her did not feel like gifts at the time. Discernment felt like being too sensitive. Mercy felt like being too soft. Encouragement felt like being too easy on people who had hurt her.
What if she has been working with the wrong dictionary.
"For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." Ephesians 2:10.
The handiwork was not the version of her that performed well at twenty-two. The handiwork was the woman who, at thirty-eight, in a kitchen at three in the morning, said the truth out loud to herself and did not flinch.
